First, start by getting all of the supplies that you need ready and in one location. Find your cat and give him or her some treats so that they know that this will be a positive experience.

Begin by brushing the cat to get rid of excess fur. This will also relax him or her. Get the dry shampoo out and let the cat sniff it, they like to know what kind of things are around them. Lightly sprinkle the dry shampoo on your cat's back. The cat may get a bit nervous about having the powder on their back. So, give them another treat.

Once your cat is calm, start brushing the coat. Brush until you can not see or feel anymore powder. You can take breaks along the way (especially if you have a cat with long hair) by giving them treats. The treats are a positive renforcement and your cat will begin to see shampooing as a good thing. Don't give up and you'll have the prettiest, best smelling cat in the neighborhood.

haha that's cute. i have met some cats who like the water, but mine is scared to death of the sound of running water. also, since he's so fluffy he literally takes days to dry.
